Bruce Glen has been chosen to perform at the VIP Opening Night Party for “The Illusionists” at Sydney Opera House tomorrow night. What a magical double – the Harry Potter Exhibition opening in November and now “The Illusionists”.

Following on from his recent work with Sydney Theatre Company, Bruce has also been engaged by Darlinghurst Theatre Company as Magic Consultant.

One of the principal characters in the critically acclaimed: ‘I Only Came To Use The Phone’ is a magician.

Bruce worked with the cast to create a truly enchanting magic show sequence. It brought gasps and applause from audiences throughout the play’s sell-out season, earlier this month.

Sydney Theatre Company engages Bruce Glen as Magic Consultant

Bruce Glen recently had the opportunity to combine two of his passions – live theatre and of course, Magic – when he was engaged by Sydney Theatre Company as their Magic Consultant. The lead character in one of STC’s ‘Rough Draft’ script development projects: ‘The Girl In Tan Boots’ is imbued with magical powers. Bruce worked with Director, Playwright, Actors and Production Designer to bring the magic to the stage.

Bruce has long experience as an actor in live theatre and television.

Bruce Glen to headline at Adelaide Fringe

Bruce Glen has been retained by the magnificent Ayers House Museum to present a Bespoke Magic show for the Adelaide Fringe 2011.

Ayers House Museum will become The House of Wonder & Delights for the duration of the festival (the largest arts festival in the southern hemisphere).

Bruce has written a special show that features extraordinary magic – together with “tall tales and true” woven around the history of Ayers House.

Ayers House Museum – in Adelaide’s city centre – is a stately 19^th century mansion that was once the home of the former Premier of South Australia, Sir Henry Ayers.

The intimacy and old world charm of this elegant location lends itself perfectly to Bruce Glen’s stylish combination of theatre, magic & storytelling.

The Adelaide Fringe runs 8 February – 13 March 2011 (over one million people attended last year).

Bruce Glen to visit headquarters of The Magic Circle

As Bruce will travel to London in August to visit The Centre for the Magic Arts – headquarters of The Magic Circle – there will be no August show at The Hughenden’s Parlour Magic Supper Club (usually on the last Tuesday of every month). Instead, there will be TWO shows in September – on the FIRST and LAST Tuesday (7th & 28th).

At last week’s performance at the Hughenden’s Parlour Magic Supper Club, Bruce was presented with his Membership of The Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.) by Alan Sullivan, President of the Australian S.A.M. Assembly. S.A.M. is the world’s oldest magic club and its first president was none other than Harry Houdini. Membership is a great honour!
